San Diego, California – October 3, 2003
Tax Compliance Inc. (TCI), the leading provider of property tax software for U.S. corporations, has reached agreement with Vertex Inc. of Berwyn, PA. TCI will provide its Property Tax Management System (PTMS) to existing Vertex property tax software customers following Vertex’s decision to immediately discontinue the marketing of its Vertex Property Tax software product, formerly known as Quantum for Property Tax.
Under the agreement, users of Vertex Property Tax software will be eligible for no-charge migration assistance from both Vertex and TCI to enable them to adopt TCI’s PTMS as their in-house property tax software tool. These migration services are available immediately to enable current Vertex customers to meet their 2004 tax filing obligations by using PTMS. Free migration assistance will remain available through 2004, after which Vertex will discontinue its property tax software support.
“Vertex is confident that TCI offers the best alternative for our property tax software customers, given the scope, functionality and user friendliness of the PTMS product, as well as TCI’s well earned reputation for supporting its customers,” said Ed Wallace, Vertex Vice President of Business Development. “We understand and regret that any migration represents an inconvenience for our customers. Vertex and TCI are actively cooperating to minimize the impact on our customers.”
TCI CEO, Carl Melcher, welcomes the opportunity to work with Vertex customers. “Our exclusive focus on property tax software over the last ten years has allowed us to earn a 70% share of the locally assessed property tax software market. We are confident our software will meet the needs and preferences of the Vertex property tax customers. Also, we’ve worked closely with the Vertex support team to ensure an effective migration program.”
Vertex communicated its decision to terminate its property tax software business to its customers on October 1, 2003.
