Tax Compliance, Inc. (TCI) announces Capture for PTMS, a new OCR-based solution which eliminates the manual data entry associated with processing property tax assessments and tax bills.

Capture for PTMS uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology to capture tax data from scanned tax bills and assessment notices and then uploads the data to TCI’s PTMS property tax software. Capture reconciles scanned tax bills and assessment notices with sites and parcels and catalogs them for easy future access. Due to the automated data transfer, transcription errors are also minimized when compared to manual data entry. Managers can implement oversight rules to ensure data validation.

“Manual data entry poses a huge burden on taxpayers who process a high volume of notices and bills,” said Scott Strauss, CEO of TCI, “Capture truly automates property tax assessments and payments and will save our customers thousands on man-hours while introducing a higher level of accuracy.” He added, “We believe Capture will revolutionize the way property tax departments work.”
