Tax Compliance, Inc. (TCI) announces the release of the Payment Manager for its PTMS property tax software. The Payment Manager represents the first step in the complete redesign of this market leading real and personal property tax software. Significant changes include the migration to the Microsoft .NET© architecture, and a redesigned tax payment interface which minimizes both keystrokes and errors.
The new PTMS leverages the same Microsoft .NET architecture as TCI’s sister company CORPTAX to create a new user interface closely resembling Microsoft Office and CORPTAX products. The new PTMS is the only property tax software developed using cutting-edge Microsoft® technology: Microsoft .NET® Framework, Microsoft SQL Server®, Microsoft Workflow Foundation®, and Microsoft SharePoint® MOSS. This technology provides the rich Windows environment users expect, the look and feel of Microsoft Office, and seamless integration with Microsoft products such as Excel®.
The new Payment Manager interface empowers managers and tax analysts to seamlessly process tax bills and check requests. Improved filtering capabilities enable users to quickly isolate groups of payment records and relevant property data for processing. A powerful “Find” feature instantly locates individual tax bills. Other new interface features such as configurable Quick Entry tools allow customers to identify data input fields and tabbing order to minimize keystrokes. Such innovation cuts the time required to process tax payments by an average of 50%. Since PTMS is developed to work within the rich Windows environment, rows of grid data may be copied and pasted directly into Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word®.
TCI CEO, Scott Strauss commented, “We’ve been working closely with our customers and CORPTAX to develop a solution that is cutting-edge while still easy to use, and the new PTMS is just that. Each module of the new .NET version of PTMS is redesigned to replace multiple screens in the legacy system, allowing for fewer clicks for each task. The result is a PTMS that is more intuitive than ever. Not only have we made considerable enhancements to the end user experience, but PTMS is the only property tax software on the market to offer flexibility in deployment, giving customers the option to host the application internally or access it via the Internet through an ASP environment. The new system is the perfect balance of process innovation and market-proven solutions, providing our customers with the best software on the market.”
“Since the interface tools are so different from our legacy PTMS system, we’re providing our customers the option of implementing the new Payment Manager module or continuing to use the existing payment functionality in PTMS,” said Mike Mulinix, Director of Customer Services at Tax Compliance, Inc. “We anticipate many customers making the transition to the Payment Manager quickly, but we understand some may elect to take a more conservative approach.”
